Pape Samb is a social entrepreneur specializing in international development. He has almost 20 years of experience in program and resource development, fundraising, partnership building, entrepreneurship, strategic planning, training and facilitation, global leadership, content management, and public speaking. He is a passionate individual who focuses his energy on educating people about entrepreneurship and leadership, and on empowering women and youth around the world by helping them to become self-sufficient and connecting them with resources to achieve their goals.

Currently, Mr. Samb serves as President of Exeleadmen International Consulting, a firm which focuses on providing leaders and entrepreneurs with the knowledge, tools, and networks to create economic value by way of creating societal value and enabling a strong entrepreneurship ecosystem for youth, women, and underprivileged communities. He is an Adjunct Professor and Executive in Residence in the Department of Public Administration and Policy in the School of Public Affairs at American University in Washington, D.C. He is the Chief Business Strategist at Outward Exports where he provides investment opportunities in the areas of agriculture, transportation, energy, health, and infrastructure/engineering to emerging markets. He is also involved in business-related activities with the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), helping to solve the world’s pressing challenges and to create positive change around the world.
[blockquote]As a driving force and empowering ‘agent of change’ for youth globally, he co-founded and serves as Chairman of the Global Youth Innovative Network (GYIN), a youth-run and led network of over 5,000 young entrepreneurial leaders, innovators, and farmers in almost 100 countries. At GYIN, he develops evidence-based, sustainable, scalable, and cost-effective agribusiness, entrepreneurship, and leadership programs and policies that address the root causes of youth unemployment while increasing opportunities for young people to obtain an appropriate job or start a successful business.[/blockquote]
Mr. Samb recently developed the first and only Global Shared Value Leadership (GSVL) certificate program in the world for American University’s Key Executive Leadership Program. Global Shared Value Leadership (GSVL) brings together businesses, nonprofits, and governments to link company and community prosperity. In Canada, he designed and developed CEED (Center for Entrepreneurship Education and Development), and Entrepreneurial, Innovation Based Experimental Learning (CEIBEL), a learning model for social entrepreneurs and investors in the province of Nova Scotia. He worked with Columbia Business School to train thousands of young African entrepreneurs in venture creation and innovation. He designed and implemented numerous programs including CORY (Creating Opportunities for Rural Youth), a regional youth employment program for West and Central African States; Arizona State University’s SEIP (Social Entrepreneurship Integration Program), a socio-economic integration program for refugees and immigrants in the State of Arizona; the Caribbean’s SEIP (Social Entrepreneurship Innovation Program), turning Caribbean technology and business leaders into social entrepreneurs and innovators. He has also developed and implemented similar programs in countries in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. As an advocate for youth initiatives, he frequently facilitates post-2015 thematic Youth Consultations for the United Nations on the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals). He also taught business management and analysis at the University of Potomac.
Over the past 9 years, he has raised more than $13 million for multiple organizations. He has travelled extensively and consulted in almost 100 countries, has spoken to a hundred thousand people, and mentored and trained approximately 50,000 young women and men in leadership and entrepreneurship. He is an active public speaker on the national and international forefront and has spoken at high level conferences in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He is also a well-known advocate for developing self-sustainable, community and youth-led initiatives, experimental innovation-based approaches, and new entrepreneurship and leadership training models.
[blockquote]Prior to Exeleadmen, he rose from the ranks of director of programs and COO to become President and CEO of Phelps Stokes, America’s oldest continuously-operating foundation. As the youngest and first non-American to head the organization, he provided leadership and vision in globalization and investing in a new generation of global leaders.[/blockquote]
At 13 years old, he founded GRADES, a women’s empowerment and youth economic development organization in Senegal. In 2010, he also founded the Senegalese Next Generation of Leaders (SENEGEL) working to train and support a new generation of well-educated, competent, and ethical Senegalese leaders.
As a certified trainer and facilitator, he created a leadership development curriculum for children ages 7-12 for a UNICEF club to teach them basic leadership skills and train them how to become ethical leaders. He also teaches venture creation to young African American entrepreneurs through the four strategic nodes of a social venture ecosystem: Emerging Social Ventures and Entrepreneurs, Social Impact Investors, Capacity Development and Support Organizations, and System Developers and Funders. He is an active board member of several organizations.
Pape Samb holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Diploma in Business Management, Accounting and Entrepreneurship. He also holds a Masters in Executive Leadership from American University in Washington, D.C and has won several awards including Leadership in Excellence, Next Generation of Leaders, Great Heart, Self-Less Founder, and Community Counterpart amongst others.
He is fluent in English, French and Wolof, and conversational in Spanish and several West African languages.
